Dr. Lindsay Stephens is a board-certified Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) serving the Bay Area since 2010. Graduating summa cum laude from Palmer West School of Chiropractic, she specializes in elite sports performance, athletic injury recovery, and comprehensive physical rehabilitation.
As an Air Force brat and lifelong dancer, Dr. Stephens uniquely blends clinical precision with personal athletic experience. Her rigorous background includes logging hundreds of hours across neurology, orthopedics, and pain management at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where she treated military personnel returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. This intensive clinical foundation allows her to seamlessly bridge the gap between chiropractic care and traditional medicine.
Dr. Stephens has provided elite-level care at major athletic events, including the Kona Ironman and the Sea Otter Classic, and has served as the team clinician for the Alonzo King LINES Ballet since 2013 and El Farolito Soccer Club since 2018.
Whether you are a professional athlete recovering from an injury or a high-performance individual training for longevity, Dr. Stephens uses a comprehensive, systematic approach to get you back to your sport faster. She founded Motus Clinic in 2016 to solve the problem of fragmented healthcare. Her signature care model blends sports chiropractic medicine with physical therapy principles, personal training, and holistic lifestyle coaching. By looking at how sleep, stress, and movement mechanics interact, she builds an authentic partnership with patients to effect long-term, sustainable health changes.
Injured or in pain? Let us help you!
Insurance companies insert themselves between you and your provider, dictating treatment length, approved methods, and when your care ends. Your provider spends more time documenting for insurance requirements than focusing on your progress, forcing providers into volume-based models where quantity matters more than quality.
We chose a different path. Our partnership is directly with you, not insurance companies. This eliminates the administrative barriers and protocol constraints that interfere with your care. Instead of 15-minute appointments rushing through insurance-approved treatments, you get the time and attention your situation actually requires.
You recieve transparent pricing with no surprise bills or coverage denials. While we don't bill insurance directly, if you have chiropractic or physical therapy coverage, you can submit for reimbursement. We accept Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and Medical Reimbursement Account (MRA) funds.
The result? Care decisions made between you and your provider based on what you need, not what a third party will pay for. Finally, a healthcare relationship that puts your outcomes first.
During this initial session, we take a complete history, perform a detailed physical exam, and assess specific functioning based on your present condition. From there we design a customized integrated therapeutic program for you.
These sessions are 40 minutes long and focus on assessing improvement and refining your therapeutic program. This includes exercise progression, reviewing diagnostic studies, and considering additional treatment options. Video visits are also offered for intermittent check-ins when coming to the office isn’t possible.
